Keynote Speaker

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander

As chief financial officer, Brad leads an office of roughly 800 public servants to promote the financial health, integrity, and effectiveness of New York City government. He also serves as investment advisor and custodian of the City’s public pension funds for the more than 750,000 public-sector workers. Under his leadership, three of the funds have adopted a detailed plan to reach net zero emissions by 2040, among the most aggressive in the nation. Brad has also strengthened efforts to combat the climate crisis, create and preserve affordable housing, and protect workers. His Public Solar NYC plan includes an innovative “public option” to scale up rooftop solar and create good green jobs. Brad is also focused on improving public infrastructure, and as of July 2023, had managed the issuance of $7.8 billion in municipal bonds for schools, parks, transportation, water and sewer, and climate resiliency projects. Prior to being elected Comptroller in 2021, Brad spent 12 years in the City Council. He served previously as the director of the Fifth Avenue Committee and the Pratt Center for Community Development.
