Jim Buckley has served as the Executive Director of University Neighborhood Housing Program (UNHP), a non-profit, Bronx-based community organization since 1989. UNHP's mission is to create, preserve and improve affordable housing and bring needed resources to the Northwest Bronx. In pursuit of that goal, UNHP provides technical assistance and training to community organizations and tenant associations operating affordable housing, develop affordable housing, oversees the operations of 27 Bronx apartment buidlings with more than 1200 apartments, examines issues affecting such housing and operates a Resource Center to help individuals with various personal financial issues.
Jim moved from Manhattan to the Bronx while attending Fordham University and continues to live in the Bronx with his family. He graduated from Hunter College's School of Social Work in 1996.
